The Spanish FA held the King's Cup draw on Monday and several First Division teams were paired up with one another for the first time ever in this early round of the competition. Real Madrid drew Ecija, while Barcelona drew Badalona.

According to press agency Efe, both Second Division B teams will play the first leg of their respective ties at home on 25 October and then travel to the Camp Nou and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on 8 November.

Several First Division teams will meet in the first round. Atletico Madrid are up against Levante, Racing Santander face Deportivo in a duel for Northern Spain, Recreativo Huelva play Betis in an Andalusion derby, and Athletic Bilbao drew Mallorca.
