Real Madrid fullback set for Chelsea?

Chelsea Football Club are believed to be interested in Cicinho.

Manager Jose Mourinho is keen to solve his long-standing right fullback problem, with the Portuguese coach remaining unconvinced by compatriot Paulo Ferreira.

Glen Johnson has returned to the Stamford Bridge squad this season following a lengthy loan spell at Portsmouth, and although the Blues will give him a chance, Cicinho has emerged as a genuine target.

The Brazilian international has endured an injury-ridden time at the Bernabeu since his move from Sao Paulo in 2005, and may relish the chance to prove himself in The Premiership.

Real Madrid offer Cicinho for Chelsea's Robben!!!

Real Madrid are willing to include fullback Cicinho in their offer for Chelsea winger Arjen Robben.
The Blues are holding out for £15m, having already rejected £13.5m bid for Robben.

The Dutch winger's father Hans and lawyer Tom Smith are negotiating with both clubs to try to rush through the deal for Robben to fly home from Chelsea's training camp in Los Angeles and join Real's pre-season in Austria.

Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic said: "Chelsea have never indicated they want a player.

"We would be happy to change if they did, but this transfer will probably only involve cash."

I think Real Madrid must not sell Cicinho because he is very talented Right Winger Back and it could be like Beckham. Because he is great player and can change a match witin a second.

Robben is important, must Cicinho is also not less important. He is one of the best Right Wing Back in the World this time I think.

Cicinho back by March.

Real Madrid's medical team say that defender Cicinho should be back in action in March after undergoing surgery on his inured knee.

The 26-year-old damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee playing against Real Betis on September 23 and it was clear that he was set for a long spell on the sidelines.

Initial reports suggested that the Brazilian full-back would be out of action for the entire campaign but following an operation to correct the problem, Dr Alfonso del Corral, who carried out the procedure, reckons he will play again this season.

"The operation has been a success," he revealed. "The player is feeling high-spirited and happy. We are in no real hurry (for his return), but we expect him to be able to play again in March."

Real did not miss the South American on Tuesday, hammering Dynamo Kiev 5-1 in the Champions League.

Successfully operated: Cicinho underwent surgery.

Cicinho's operation was completed successfully. The medical team led by Real Madrid's repaired and reconstructed the anterior cruciate ligament injuries suffered by the Brazilian right fullback on his right knee. “We expect him to play again sometime in March,” stated Doctor Del Corral.

Cicinho was admitted to the surgery room at 4 pm CET. One and a half hours later, Doctor Del Corral was attending the media, reading out the medical report and answering their questions.

The head of Real Madrid's Medical Services expressed it in these terms, “The operation has been a success. The player is feeling high-spirited and happy.” Regarding the recovery period, the doctor specified, “We are in no real hurry, but we expect him to be able to play again in March.”

Finally, the player has expressed that he would like to go back home to Sao Paulo for a portion of the recovery period. Del Corral thinks this will entail no problems whatsoever, explaining, “We will talk it over. I think we can break it up between Spain and Brazil.”

MEDICAL REPORT:
Patient Mr. Cicero Joao de Cesare underwent a surgical procedure on 26-9-2006 at Madrid's Ruber Internacional Hospital performed by Dr. Del Corral and his team, who repaired the torn anterior cruciate ligament of the player's right knee, an injury sustained during the League match played on 23-9-2006.

The surgery effectively repaired the ligament. There have been no complications during the intervention and the post-operative, so far.

He will be discharged approximately 24 hours after the operation and is set for a 5 to 6 month recovery period.

Real Madrid may sign replacement for injured Cicinho.

Real Madrid suggested that it might sign a replacement for injured right-back Cicinho.

"We will study the possibility of signing a replacement in the next few days," said sporting director Pedja Mijatovic Sunday night.

Spanish federation rules permit a team to bring in cover for a player who has suffered long-term injury at any time during the season.

Cicinho tore the cruciate ligaments in his right knee in Real's 1-0 win Saturday at Betis. He will be operated upon this week and will be out of action for around six months.

Cicinho hit with serious knee injury.

Real Madrid right back Cicinho ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Madrid gave no details of his expected recovery time, but news reports Sunday said Cicinho is expected to be sidelined for six to eight months.

The Brazil international will undergo surgery on Monday, the club said.

Cicinho was injured when he twisted his knee after being hit by the ball in the 29th minute of Madrid's 1-0 league win over Real Betis on Saturday.

Cicinho's absence will allow Madrid to sign a replacement even though the transfer window closed last month. FIFA rules permit long-term injured players to be replaced.

Madrid signed Cicinho from Sao Paulo in January 2006 for a fee of €6 million (US$7.7 million) after he helped Brazil win the Confederations Cup the previous year.

The 26-year-old defender will miss his first match on Tuesday, when Madrid hosts Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League.

Madrid also gave medical details about David Beckham and Roberto Carlos.

Beckham, who has been on the bench for Madrid's last two games, has tonsillitis and has been advised to rest. Roberto Carlos' left sinus has been stitched after he was elbowed in the face by Betis defender Juanito Gutierrez in Saturday's game.

Cicinho: Real Madrid want me to stay.

Cicinho insists he wants to stay with Real Madrid.

Linked with West Ham and Roma this week, the Brazilian said: "My will is to stay here. (Real sports chief) Predrag Mijatovic has told me he doesn't want to let me go, that two teams wanted me, but Madrid did not want to sell me and I am very happy to be staying here.

"If they do not want to work with me, then I will look for another team. But if they do, I stay."

Cicinho sticking with Madrid.

Cicinho has no intention of leaving Real Madrid in January, according to the Brazilian full-back's agent.

The 26-year-old has struggled to impress Real's new coach Fabio Capello and press reports in Italy claimed he is already in negotiations about a new year move to Roma.

However, agent Ricardo Sartis told Marca: "Cicinho is a Real Madrid player and is not going anywhere.

"He is very happy in Madrid and very motivated to convince Capello that he should be in the team.

"There is nothing happening with Roma. I can confirm Cicinho wants to succeed in Madrid."

Cicinho set for Roma!

Brazilian defender Cicinho is likely to leave Real Madrid in the January transfer window after failing to impress new coach Fabio Capello. Roma are understood to already have an agreement in principle with Real over a loan deal for the right-sided defender.

Roma's interest has been confirmed by Real's Italian agent Ernesto Bronzetti.

“In the last few days of the transfer market I spoke to (coach) Luciano Spalletti and director Daniele Prade' about Cicinho.

“We reached an agreement to take him on loan, but the problem was that Real wanted to make a permanent sale and cash in about £7m.

"I also received offers from Fiorentina and Inter for Cicinho, but I pushed for him to join the Giallorossi.

"I didn't even need to, as he had fallen in love with their fans when he came here to play as an opponent."

However, West Ham manager Alan Pardew also revealed at the weekend that he would try to follow-up his summer bid with another offer in January.

Premiership West Ham signed Argentina internationals Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez on deadline day to strengthen their squad for their forthcoming UEFA Cup campaign.

I think it will not be a good decission to sell or loan Cicinho. Because he is an impressive player and also a great winger and a player who can change a match. I think it will be a great mistake if Real loose him.

Cicinho might be a key player in the future and now he is also impressive and a player of Brazilian National side. I don't know why he couldn't impress Capello. But Capello must have a plan. So let's see what happened. But I think it will not be a good decission and Real may suffer for him later.

So I think it will be good to keep him in the squad.

Real Madrid coach Capello leaves out Cicinho.

Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello refused to rule out selling Cicinho after yesterday's 0-0 draw with Villarreal.

In the morning's press yesterday, it was reported that Capello wanted to sell the Brazilian fullback after failing to be convinced about the player's defensive game.

Asked about Cicinho, Capello said last night: "I haven't said anything to him, nor to anyother player. For now, the players I am counting on are those that are here."

Capello played Michel Salgado at right-back yesterday, leaving Cicinho on the bench.
