Beckham injured.

David Beckham will be forced to miss Real Madrid�s Primera Division match against Gimnastic this weekend.

The former England captain strained a thigh muscle in his side�s 1 � 1 King�s Cup tie against third division Ecija on Wednesday. That was only the second time in eight matches in which he has started a match this season.

This injury comes at a time where there is much conjecture as to his future.

At this stage the extent of his injury is unknown.

Real�s next fixture after Gimnastic will be when they host Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League next Wednesday. Real lie in second place in Group E, three points behind leaders Olympique Lyon.
