Real Mulling Mexes Move.

Reports coming out of Spain suggest that Roma's Philippe Mexes is fast becoming an object of Real Madrid's interest.

Don Fabio has been impressed with Sergio Ramos's performances as a right back, and now wants to play him regularly on the flank. He now wants a new centre-half to replace Helguera.

It all started when Real were informed that the French defender has a release clause of 10.5 million Euros, something Los Merengues would be more that willing to dish out.

The 24-year old joined Roma from Auxerre in the summer of 2004, after Capello had left for Juventus. After a difficult first season - as much for him as for Roma - he has really come on in leaps and bounds over the last year.

Capello was interested in Mexes during his time in charge of Juventus, and Pedja Mijatovic is willing to do what it takes to back the Italian coach fully.

Mexes has already played in the Champions League for Roma, and is thus cup-tied, but apparently, Capello is willing to pay that price for signing a top centre-half mid-season.

With Cassano wanting to return to Rome, we could be in for an interesting January!
