Real Madrid edge Anderlecht to win Bernabeu Cup.

Real Madrid edged past Anderlecht with a 2-1 victory in an exhibition game on Wednesday to win the honorary Santiago Bernabeu trophy.

Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy fired Real Madrid into the lead with a first-half double while Sebastian Siani netted a consolation goal for the Belgians.

Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Hassan took part in the game, playing the entire first-half.

Real Madrid skipper Raul was presented with the Bernabeu trophy by president Ramon Calderon after the game.

Hassan's Anderlecht face their first true test of the season when they take on rivals Club Brugge in the Belgian league on Sunday.

2-1 (84’): Sian, scores taking advantage of a rebound from a save by Diego López.
REFEREE: Mejuto González. Booked Goor for a hard tackle on Salgado.

HIGHLIGHTS: 28th edition of the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy. Attendance: 70,000. President Ramón Calderón handed the Trophy over to Raúl.
