Real Madrid, Barcelona battle for Chelsea's Robben.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are going head-to-head for Chelsea winger Arjen Robben.

Both clubs are in the market for a new left-sided midfielder and have penned Robben at the top of their shopping lists, says DiarioSport.

Robben is weighing up his future at Chelsea, particularly with manager Jose Mourinho now staying on next season. The pair haven't seen eye-to-eye this term over Robben's injury record, though the Blues boss was full of praise for the winger over the way he performed on Tuesday night at Liverpool.

Robben was promised to Real fans by Ramon Calderon as he battled for last summer's presidency and remains a target for the Madrid club. Barca coach Frank Rijkaard, meanwhile, is a big fan of his fellow Dutchman and is convinced his versatility would fit well into his playing system.

Result: Real Madrid Castilla 2-1 Malaga.

Real Madrid trials for 'new Solskjaer' .

Real Madrid have handed trials to Norwegian youngster Jo Sondre Aas.

A Norway U17 international striker, Aas is tied to Rosenborg and has been likened to Manchester United star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Real Madrid's Norway scout, Jack Karades, has set up the trial, which will see Aas travel to Madrid this week to train with Michel's Castilla team and also be a guest in the director's box for Real's clash with Sevilla on Sunday.

Beckham will play for Real Madrid on Sunday

The English player has had a yellow card cancelled, meaning he can play against Sevilla in the important league game

The Spanish authorities have cancelled a yellow card issued against David Beckham which means the Real Madrid player can take his place in the important league game against Sevilla in the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday.

Beckham was given the card during the match against Athletic, but following video evidence and the declaration of the Brazilian player Cicinho, the Competition Committee has cancelled it.

Sevilla complain that Real Madrid is being favoured by the Spanish Football Federation.

It’s of note how the Real Madrid manager, Fabio Capello, has gone from saying Beckham will never wear a Real Madrid shirt again, to counting on the player.

Real and Barça alerted by news of Chelsea clearout .

According to Jose Mourinho, there are going to be changes at Chelsea in the wake of their Champions League semi-final exit earlier this week. The possibility that the likes of Lampard, Carvalho, Essien and Robben could be up for sale is reported to have aroused the keen interest of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

After failing to lure their top two targets to the club (Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká), Real Madrid are likely to renew last summer's unsuccessful bid to sign Arjen Robben, who is very reasonably priced at €18 million euros.

However they could face competition from their Catalan rivals, who are also rumoured to be interested in signing Essien and Lampard to reinforce their midfield while Frank Rijkaard is also said to be interested in Portuguese defender Ricardo Carvalho.
